Video Transcript:

What i'm going to do here is I'm going to give myself some cane stage, so meaning that.

Well let's call it what it is headroom, so I'm going to switch to old that's my  basic setting for this compressor and then i'm going to raise the output level  so that now i hear the stuff loud hold on to your socks.

Then i can lower my monitor here because i'm blasting myself to smithereens.

So let's talk about this this is crucial, i lowered my monitor to the same level  that it was before, so I'm i just jacked the level up 4.5 db ish.

I lowered my money to 4.5 dbs, i'm listing at the same level but now i have  gain on my mix bus which means i don't have to push as hard to get to the  levels i want to get at and how did i pick 4.5 dbs i'm looking at my Decibel output here.

It's hovering at you know  -14 ish.

Maybe a little under but clearly i'm gonna add some stuff um so it's probably  be safer to go to 3 here, and now i'm basically in the ballpark you'll notice that it's not compressing.

I know from experience that if i go down two plus four or zero i'm gonna get a  little bit of a tap.
